Corialis is a European market leader vertically integrated in the design, extrusion, insulation and coating of aluminium profile solutions for windows, doors and roof systems.

Our investment was designed to support a highly skilled management team in the roll-out of the vertical integration strategy initially developed in Belgium in new geographies, such as France, the United Kingdom and Poland.

Our contribution

  • Providing support and counter-cyclical financing (2009 to 2011) for a major €110 million capital expenditure project to upgrade and extend the production base with extrusion, coating and insulation lines in France, the United Kingdom and Poland.
  • Deploying an integrated management organisation in each country.
  • Professionalising the finance function, reporting systems and governance practices.

Successful outcomes

  • Major investments committed on-time and on-budget, supported by Sagard during the 2009 crisis.
  • Market share won in the United Kingdom and Poland, consolidating the company’s leadership in Europe.
  • Diversification of profit sources, historically highly focused on Belgium and France.
